Imprintink.com Owner Invited to Speak at Self Employment in the Arts (SEA) Conference

Caledonia, IL (PRWEB) February 4, 2005 -- Ilona Meagher, owner of the Rockford, IL - area new media design and development business, imprintink.com, has been invited to speak at North Central Colleges annual Self Employment in the Arts (SEA) Conference. Scheduled to be held on February 25th and 26th, the focus of the SEA Conference is on the business side of the arts. Mrs. Meagher will share her business entrepreneurship experience by participating in panel discussions, networking events, and one-on-one sessions with conference attendees.

Ms. Meagher will also present two workshops exploring the realities of being a self-employed graphic artist and web designer: 1) The Business of Being Creative: A Guide for the New Freelance Design Entrepreneur and 2) Current Entrepreneurial Trends: Setting Yourself Apart in the New Era of Self-Employment. The majority of SEA Conference attendees are artists, college students, and faculty from the Midwest (North Central College is a private school located in Naperville, IL). In its 5th year, the Self Employment in the Arts gathering continues to bring art entrepreneurs together to share strategies and discover new networks. Self-employment as an independent artist is quite common in the art and design fields (1/3 of all commercial artists are self-employed); therefore, events such as these are vital to fostering community and success through the mentorship and coaching of those embarking upon a freelance art career.

Ms. Meagher is honored to have the opportunity to speak with these young artists. As New Media Project Manager and owner of imprintink.com, Ms. Meagher respects the pursuit of relationships of quality, professionalism, and appreciates the recognition and opportunity given her by the community. She is available to deliver The Business of Being Creative workshop and Current Entrepreneurial Trends session to a variety of groups, businesses and associations interested in educating their audience on the ups and downs of small business entrepreneurship, especially as it affects those in the visual art community.
